The expansion of PROMAR’s production facility is closely aligned with three key product categories:
- functional additives
- coating systems
- alginates
These segments have been identified as offering the greatest growth potential and therefore constitute the focus of large-scale production development.
Functional Additives and Stabilisers – Flexibility and Recipe Optimisation


PROMAR offers functional additives in both powdered and liquid forms. Their versatile and comprehensive application enables manufacturers to achieve the desired characteristics of the finished product, such as structure, functionality, yield, colour, and flavour. Formulations are developed with a limited number of E-numbers, in line with the clean label trend.
The company also places strong emphasis on recipe economics. A single solution can often serve as the basis for an entire product range, helping customers optimise processes and reduce production costs. PROMAR provides technological support at every stage of implementation—from selecting the appropriate formulation, through testing in the application centre, to fine-tuning the process on the customer’s production lines.
Coating Systems – The Fastest-Growing Segment of the Portfolio


Coating systems represent the fastest-growing part of PROMAR’s portfolio. In addition to classic solutions such as plain coatings, tempura, and flour breading, the company develops original flavour compositions integrated directly into coating systems.
PROMAR’s competitive advantage lies in its ability to translate flavours known from marinades and popular snacks into coatings—for example, ketchup chips, cheese, nachos, as well as compositions inspired by Caribbean and Indonesian cuisines.
Products are tailored to various categories, including meat, vegetable, and fish applications. Before a new product is launched, it undergoes sensory panels and application tests in the R&D centre, followed by trials at the customer’s facility. PROMAR technologists adjust both the formulation and coating parameters to match the customer’s machinery, providing a significant operational advantage.
As a result, manufacturers receive solutions that shorten time to market, minimise the risk of technological errors, and ensure consistent product quality. Coatings may be neutral (plain), ideal for products served with sauces, or flavoured—allowing the creation of complete dishes without the need for additional sauces. This, in turn, reduces the calorie content of the finished product and lowers costs for the end consumer.
Alginates and Co-Extrusion – Complete Product Solutions


PROMAR alginates are natural gels derived from seaweed, used by customers to produce products in alginate casings. They are carefully developed to deliver high functionality at minimal dosage. As a result, the finished product retains its meaty character, appropriate shape, and colour, while reduced raw material usage improves production economics.
PROMAR supplies customers not only with alginates in powder or ready-to-use gel form, but with a comprehensive concept that includes finished product design, formulation development, and support with calibration and configuration of production machinery.
